Character: a jazz musician (girl).
Setting: a city park.
Time: late at night.
Situation: someone feels like giving up.

"I was wondering last night, I felt strange and tired. Although everything in my life was falling apart, I was feeling forceful that night.

Days pased on until my brother's death, nobody could turn this pain into happiness... My mother does all that she can for me, but our both hearts are seriously hurt. My dad is depressed, he was there when my brother died, he heard his last words.

... That was passing over my head, when I heard a beautiful but devasteted and painful piece of music. I was walking across the park, because I love to feel the grass down my shoes. The music was coming from behind that great tree, in a bench, step back the fountain.

A girl seems to look for something in the sky, but I knew that she was concentrated, in that magneficent kind of trance that someone goes on when she expressed herself out of that saxophone.

At the same moment that I looked her, she looked to me. I could feel her sorrow entering in my heart. The music that she was playing shaked myself.

I sat at her side, contemplating the stars as she was doing. Time later (I don't know how much) we began to talk.

She grew up damaged by the lack of a family, of love. She had to raise by her own, working as hard as she could to live... that way, her years tortuously passed on. One day, an old woman saw her, when she was six years old. The old woman educated her, and spend all her money, all her love and all her dedication to her new child.

Beautiful years were coming for her, until the day her new mother died, and she was left alone in this world.

Something to talk about.

1- In my holidays, I've been to San Pedro, a little town close to Quillota, where my cousins and aunts live. This is not a big town... really nothing like that, but I enjoyed staying there because I rested a lot. It's a very tranquil place to be, and I ate a lot of delicious food.

2- I think that the most interesting people I met were my cousins. In the day, we played table tennis, basketball and we swam in the pool. In the night we got together to play xbox and ps3.

3- When I get older, the first thing that I'd like to do is to study in a state-owned university. That's what I give mayor priority.

4- One of my biggest dreams is to learn how to play every instrument that I like, such as: the cello, the trumpet, the banjo... and others.

5- When I was younger, I had a terrible dream. I dreamed that my family died in an accident, and I saw myself, alone and desolated. That dream made me realize how much I love them.

6- I enjoy spending my time with all my friends.

7- Recently, the most exciting experience I had, was to improvise a beautiful solo for the song that I like the most.

8- I don't like the idea of having a pet, I think that animals are happier living free, and it's a great responsability for a person too.

9- Play the guitar, the bass. Play computer games with my friends. And while I am walking, I like to admire the landscape (the urban landscape)... that calms me down.

10- I would love to visit the historic places in Europe.

11- If I had the chance, I'd like to meet John Frusciante, one of the best guitarrist of the world (at least for me).

12- My mom, she is the person who showed me the world. She always supported me, and she gave me freedom, but I had to face the responsability. I think that it is a good idea to raise kids.

13- I'd like to do snowboard, I think that is would be exciting.

14- I don't regret of anything that I've done. If I did something wrong, I would do that again if I had to.

15- I don't remember any experience that made me laugh that much.

16- When my mother was hospitalized. I was very young, and I think that something terrible was going to happen, and I felt unprotected... that was the most terrible experience I had in my life.

17- Although having a million dollars, that's not one of my dreams. But I think that I would save it, until I have an important need to spend that money.

18- If I was the president, I would organize the country: I won't allow the laziness, because everyone has a talent, and I would like that all of us can show it to the whole country. And I would give equity (not equallity), give everyone a chance, and for whom doesn't collaborate, take that chance off him. I think: Why to not collaborate, if you have the chance to?, and you will be paid for it...

19- I could offer dedication, friendship and affection.

20- The best gift that someone could give me, is it's friendship, I like to meet new friends, with whom I can share beautiful experiences.

21- I don't really think that "I have the talent". But I like very much, the way that I got playing guitar and bass.

What would you do if you were Jennifer?

If i was Jennifer i would inmediatly leave the building instead of looking for the problem, i would try to stay calmed and i think i won’t wait for the students to leave the building too. Most importantly if the students caused the false alarm, fact that she could notice because of their delay on leaving the building. Then I would be worried, because I will know that my ears were seriously damaged due to the sound of the alarm, the “false alarm”, and, of course, I will be angry with the studens who sounded it. Later, I will go to the hostpital, or something like that, in order to find a cure for the ears’ problem.

Jennifer, feel, bubbles, fire, deaf.

remember, class end, fire alarm, walk around, see, students.

night supervisor, scape, delay, “false alarm”, turn off the alarm, return home, annoying sound.

jennifer’s problem, irreversible, too much time, alarm, several damage, ears, deaf, forever.

a) In this movie, we found the following topics:

- The alien existence in any other planet.
- The power to accept the differences of others.
- A universal problem such as a war between 2 worlds.
- Shows the point of the human indolence about the alien fraternal links.

b) We choose the topic of the alien existence in any other planet:

Human thought that they were alone in the universe until there started to happen strange things in the earth, which suggested them the alien existence. After that, they wanted to stablish a communication between the both races.

This is very important, because if there were any alien civilization, we could exchange cultural knowledge. Therefore we could evolve, and for example, we could find the cure for some diseases such as the cancer... or we could design some technologic engines too. Maybe with their technologic knowledge, we could find how to repair the ozone layer.

Some bad consecuences could be (as the movie showed) the medic experiments whith the alien individuals. This things happen because of the human ambition, human always try to know everything without regarding the consecuences.

This topic is also related with the respect of the neighbors' dignity. In our whole history, human always thought that they were the only specie that had a soul, so they don't care about the integrity of the other species.

We conclude that maybe we are not alone in the universe. If we find any alien lifeform it could mean a new human age, which could help us with many difficult problems. But the most important thing is to respect other lifeforms, because they have a soul such as he have.

Richard The Lionheart

Richard I of England was the king between 1189-1199. His father was Henry II of England and his mother was Eleanor of Aquitaine.

During his reign, he only visited England two times, and both were the coronation ceremonies. He was about six months in England.

He loved his mother so much, who taught him values and manners, and he didn't know his father, because he left him and his mother. Therefore, he didn't want to marry, because he spent the most of his life in the crusades. Even so, he married Berengaria of Navarre, who loved him so much, and suffered because of his adventures in the crusades. Richard wrote her many letters, were he showed his love... and unconsciously his love for the poetry.

He wasn't a very good king, in fact, he cared more about the crusades and to make justice with the jews and the muslims (both hated the christians), than about political matters. He was born to be a hero, not a king.

Richard loved the arts like the poetry and the epic, because of that, he had an adventurer spirit. His friends and subjects followed him devoutly. He inherited a very passionate and temperamental heart from his parents, but not the political cunning of his father. He was very ambicious but generous, so he didn't conform with little, in fact always worked for more. He wasn't very responsible, because he focused so much in an important thing, so he often forgot some others. He liked to organize, but he wasn't very good for administrate, except for war and crusades... he was an exceptional strategist and an amazing soldier. For all of theese things he deserved his nickname: "Richard The Lionheart".

Richard The Lionheart was an authentic epic knight.

I feel identified with him because he always did what he had to do with courage... and I always wanted to be a crusader knight, glorious and brave. And Richard was a man that cared about the arts and the poetry about his feats and battles. I really want to be like him.

The person from whom I learned more

I think that the person that taught me the most in my life is my mum. Besides she taught me how to walk, to speak, to read, to write... she taught me the most important thing in the life: to any situation or problem, you must be strong and have faith, because you will always get God's help, no matter how, everything can be resolved if you persist... no problem is unsolvable.

There are many important people in my life, but my mother is the person that helped me the most. In my life, she always gave me freedom, but whenever I would be responsible, because she always thought that I should learn how to decide, so when I'm old enought, she let me decide for some things (of course that not everything).

Another thing that she taught me is to be effort, because lazy people eventually will have to work the most, so it's better to be effort in education, job, etc... that when you have to work (in poor conditions) for food.

Therefore, I would like to teach the same to my children in the future.
